Integration management processes.
We seen the processes
of integration management in pervious article (What is meaning by Integration Management?) but it is better to see
all integration management processes in a same sheet again.
There are seven
processes of integration management.
1- Develop project charter.
Develop project
charter process belong to initiating process group. This process aim to gather
high level of project information to produce the project charter. This will be
helping in authorizing the project in the organization.
2- Develop project management plan.
Develop project
management plan belong to planning process group. This process to ensure proper
planning of a project. Also, will help in producing project management plan
such as scope management plan, schedule management plan, cost management plan,
etc.
3- Direct and manage project work.
Direct and manage
project work belong to executing process group. This process ensure the
deliverables of the project be produced. Main outputs of a project are produced
and delivered to the customer during executing phase and this process mainly
aims to deliver project deliverables.
4- Mange project knowledge work.
Manage project
knowledge work process belong to executing process group. This process aims to
use existing knowledge in organization and create new knowledges throughout the
project. With existing knowledge and new knowledge project team aims to reaches
project objectives.
5- Monitor and control project work.
Monitor and control
project work process belong to monitoring & controlling process group.
Plans is done, execution of the project starts however, actual results will not
be exactly as per planned, no matter how the project plan is. Divisions and
variances from the planned values are measured with help of monitoring and
controlling project work process.
6- Perform integrated change control.
Perform integrated
change control process belong to monitoring and controlling process group as
well. Changes might be requested to divisions or variances from the plan value
or customer might require changes to the project. For example, they can come
with new requirements to change the existing requirements. This change request
evaluated by change control board with alternative solution that is impact to
the project. If changes are approved, these need to be implemented in the
project and perform integrated change control process ensure proper
implementation of changes in the project.
7- Close project or phase.
Close project or phase
process belong to closing process group. Once the project is completed, if the
customer accepted the final product and sign off the acceptance and if all the
project objectives are met, project can be close officially. Or if it is a
phase of large project, the phase can be closed. Close project or phase process
aims to collected and archived all project documents, make all remining
payments to the suppliers, etc.
