Method Statement for Installation Column and Wall Guard.
Scope of Works.
The purpose of this Method of Statement for the installation
of column & wall guard is to outline the materials and labor required to
undertake the works in a safe and controlled manner, compiling with relevant
legislation, standards, and codes of practice, etc.
The method statement shall be briefed to all appropriate operatives to ensure that they are aware of the sequence of activities and any Client/Consultant project-specific requirements.
Constant monitoring and supervision duty shall be undertaken
by the main contractor to ensure work activities are carried out in accordance
with the method statement. Any irregularities shall be immediately actioned.
General.
Prior to the commencement of work, a necessary work permit
must be obtained.
Prior to works commencing, the Site Engineer shall ensure
that the following activities have been completed and signed-off by the Client /Consultant:
Drawing must be approved for construction by the Consultant.
Material submittal for column and wall guard must be
approved by the consultant.
Mockup inspection for column and wall guard was approved by
the consultant.
The Site Engineer shall ensure that the necessary Statutory
Authorities approvals have been received.

Columns Guard Installation Procedure.
Surveyor will ensure that the setting out was according to
the approved shop drawing.
The corner guards are mounted on GI clip inserts and
appropriately bolted into the column by screws.
Check the fixing surface, it should be flat.
Clean the surface before bonding.
Keep the part supported in the bottom and mark the 6-hole
positions and make an 8 mm hole in the concrete.
Insert the Nylon plug inside the hole in a straight
position.
Apply epoxy adhesive inside the rubber part and surface to
be fixed which is going to be bonded.
Keep it for 20-30 seconds dry then bond the rubber part with
the surface with the hole alignment.
Insert the screw with the washer in the rubber part and
tight all 6 screws.
Apply roller pressure above the rubber product for effective
contact with the surface.

Walls Guard Installation Procedure.
The wall guard can be fixed horizontally or inclined in the ramp area depending on the site condition requirement.
Surveyor will ensure that the setting out was according to the approved shop drawing.
Check the bolt length and size.
Check the fixing surface, it should be flat.
Mark the 6-hole positions in the rubber wall guard as per the drawings pitch distance and make an 8 mm hole, for continues clamping 400 mm fixing distance to be given.
Mark two horizontal lines at a distance of 200 mm in the clamping surface.
Keep the wall guard inside the lines and mark the 6 holes position in the concrete surface.
Make a 10 mm dia. Drill hole at a depth of 50 mm with the help of drilling m/c in the marked 6 bolts position.
Insert the Nylon plug inside the hole in a straight position.
Keep the wall guard in the fixing surface and fix it with the 6 screws.
The bolt head should be inside the groove, and it should not be protected outside.
